In the early days of the Republic of China, a series of mysterious cases occurred at Wuming River. The river deity, Master Ba Ye, and his apprentice Yue’er are invited by villager Qiu Sheng to help exorcise evil spirits afflicting his sister. As Master Ba Ye arrives, the hidden truths behind the deaths at Wuming River slowly come to light.
